Safe Church, Safe Communities In-Person Training
This is an opportunity for Safe Church In-person training for LAY PEOPLE.
Safe Church Training: Registration now open
Diocesan Safe Church Trainers will conduct this important in-person training for lay leaders and church staff on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Emmanuel Church in Newport with check-in starting at 8:30am. The program begins promptly at 9am and ends at 1:30pm. Coffee, water and snacks will be provided.
Universal training is required for church employees, volunteers working with youth, home visitors, licensed lay ministers and church leaders including vestry members, volunteer program leaders and Altar Guild. Certification of training shall be renewed every three years.
The obligation to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being is binding for all the baptized. This Safe Church Training session will share best practices and policies to help keep our churches safe for children and our vulnerable populations.
