Lenten Program – Waking Up White: And Finding Myself in the Story of Race

The 7 week Lenten series features the book by writer Debby Irving, “Waking Up White: And Finding Myself in the Story of Race” which describes Irving’s adventure of discovery and insight about being white that “drastically shifted her worldview and upended her life plan”. Join us on Wednesdays,  March 6 – April 17,  from 6:45 – 8:15 pm in the Guild Room of Emmanuel Church.

Participants are asked to read the book as part of being offered a compelling invitation to learn, with useful lessons for living in twenty first century America. The series will be facilitated by Kim Robey and organized by members of Emmanuel Church.

A simple supper of soup and bread will be served at 5:00 pm, before the Holy Eucharist service at 6:00.
