Jim Morgan – August Organist
We also welcome our Supply Organist, Jim Morgan, who will be with us on Sundays through the end of August. After having graduated from Hendricken in 1967, Jim continued his musical studies at New England Conservatory in Boston graduating with a degree in organ in 1971. In January of 1972, Jim moved to England where he studied at the Royal School Of Church Music, Croydon and taught for 5 years in British boarding schools before returning home. In 1980 he was offered the position of organist and choirmaster of Grace Church, Providence where he rebuilt the men and boys choir and the rest of the music program which had lain dormant for some time. He has held positions at St. Peter’s By-The-Sea, Narragansett and Trinity Church, Newport. For the last 4 years he has been music director of First Congregational Church, Bristol. Jim is a Fellow of Trinity College of Music, London and serves on the RI Appeals Board of the Selective Service.
