Diane Norton-Jackson, organist
We are pleased to announce that Diana Norton-Jackson will be our guest organist for the 10 am services each Sunday through July 21, when she will play requested hymns.
Diana Norton-Jackson received a bachelor’s degree in organ from Stetson University, where she studied with Paul Jenkins, and a master’s degree in conducting from the University of Georgia. She did a further year of graduate work at the School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary in New York where she studied organ at General Seminary in NYC with Leonard Raver, organist of the New York Philharmonic. She has served as organist/choirmaster at a number of RI churches including Emmanuel Church, Trinity Church, Kingston Congregational Church, interim organist at St. Martin’s in Providence, and organist at St. James Episcopal Church in New London, CT. She was also an instructor-accompanist at URI. As a recitalist, she has performed many organ recitals in the US, including the Episcopal cathedrals in Providence, Atlanta, and Houston and churches in NYC, NJ, NH, RI, and CT. She is a past Dean of the RI Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
